Mick (Age 58)

About me:

At 52, I was a successful Regional Sales Manager who enjoyed life. I travelled extensively throughout the UK and had a huge responsibility in achieving my targets and objectives.

One day things took a dramatic turn for the worst when I had a heart attack and had to make a life changing decision; move into a residential care home environment at the age of 52 or embrace the idea of telecare which would give me the opportunity to live independently in my own home for longer.

My Health Condition:

  • Heart failure
  • Liver failure
  • Spinal stenosis

Reach Alarm Unit

1) Reach Alarm Unit

The alarm unit plugs into the telephone line and automatically dials the response service if I need help. It has a built in microphone and speaker and receives radio signals from my other sensors.

Personal Pendant

2) Personal Pendant

I wear my pendant at all times in case I need to call for assistance. It's easy to press and what's even better is that it's totally waterproof so I can take it into the bathroom too

Pill Dispenser

3) Pill Dispenser

The pill dispenser is a really clever device that is pre-loaded with my medication. It beeps
when it's time to take it and if I miss a dose, it alerts the monitoring centre who can check to make sure I'm ok.
